Join us as we present our first Celtic Folk concert of the 2026. We had the good fortune to attend a concert at Water Valley this past summer and knew we had to get Luft and the Goodchildren in for a show. Na Seanachie (The Storyteller) and Get Reel will round out the evening.

The evening is in a concert format (attentive audience) in an authentic pub-style setting, with three acts and the ICS bar. Due to renovations at the venue affecting the kitchen, we will not have food available for this show (Soon. Soon.) Cash and electronic payment options.

Previous concerts have sold out, so don’t wait to get your tickets. Tickets are available on the Eventbrite website or at the secure embedded checkout at the bottom of the page.

Luft and the Goodchildren

Barry Luft, Helen Goodchild and Steve Goodchild - Singing Storytellers

Individually, Steve Goodchild, Helen Goodchild, and Barry Luft have a vast amount of experience entertaining audiences over many years on the stage playing many genres. Together, the singing storytellers have an amazing chemistry with the audience as they weave stories, humour, traditional and contemporary songs, and instrumental tunes into a performance that will lift your spirits.

With an array of different instruments at their disposal, Luft and the Goodchildren warn audiences to be prepared to have minds calmed, hearts uplifted, and funny bones tickled! Play on!

Na Seanachie (The Storyteller)

Na Seanachie - Kevin and Tom (The Storyteller)

Kevin hails from the west of Scotland, living for a period of time in Ireland before moving ‘across the pond’. This diversity of geography combines with an appreciation for a wide range of musical styles, genres, or whatever you want to call it! Kevin is well known around town and brings a certain intimacy and variety to the stage.

Tom is a multi-talented Canadian-born musician who layers guitars, banjo, mandolin, and harmonica (albeit only one at a time).

Prepare to lean in as Na Seanachie takes to our stage again.

Get Reel

Doug, Greg and Tony of Get Reel

Our jolly ship’s crew will explore a lively set of songs and fiddle tunes from the East Coast, Irish, Scottish, Folk, and other Celtic traditions. Blending a mix of harmonies into their songs, Get Reel is:

  • Doug Wagner (vocals, bodhran, guitar, and fiddle),
  • Greg Black (vocals, guitar, electric bass, and octave mandolin) and
  • Tony Hogan (vocals and percussion).

Over many years, Get Reel has performed in numerous venues around Alberta, including the Water Valley Celtic Festival, the Irish Cultural Society, Okotoks, and the High River. We are also the house band for Celtic Folk.

When the fog is just right, you can almost smell the ocean, see the shipwrecks, hear the crashing waves with “a tiny trace of fiddling in the distance far behind him.”
